12 feature releases that make Copilot more collaborative, capable, and integrated

Microsoft has just unveiled its most ambitious Copilot update yet, rolling out a suite of 12 new features designed to transform how businesses and individuals interact with AI across Windows, Edge, and Microsoft365. Here’s what you need to know-and why it matters for your organisation.

1. Groups: Real-Time Collaboration, Supercharged

Copilot now supports “Groups”-shared sessions where up to 32participants can brainstorm, co-author, and plan together. Think of it as a meeting chat, task board, and generative workspace all in one. Copilot keeps track of context, summarises decisions, and manages open actions, making teamwork seamless for distributed or hybrid teams.

3. Meet Mico: The New Face of AI Assistance

Remember Clippy? (yes, the paperclip) Microsoft’s new character, Mico, is a friendly, expressive companion that brings warmth and personality to Copilot’s voice-enabled experiences. Mico listens, reacts, and adapts its tone, making AI interactions more engaging and human.

5. Memory & Personalisation

Copilot can now remember key details-like training plans, important dates, and goals-at your direction. This long-term contextual memory means less repetition and more personalised support for ongoing projects.

6. Connectors: Unified Search Across Platforms

Integration with OneDrive, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar allows Copilot to search naturally across all your accounts. No more hunting for files or emails-just ask Copilot.

7. Proactive Actions (Preview)

Copilot now suggests next steps and prompts based on your recent activity, helping you stay organised and ahead of your to-do list.(Requires a Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium subscription.)

8. Copilot for Health

A new health-focused module grounds information in credible sources like Harvard Health and even helps users locate and compare doctors.(Currently US-only.)
