Our Story
Genmar IT started as a small family business with a simple mission: provide honest, reliable IT support to local businesses. Three decades later, that mission hasn't changed - we've just gotten better at it.
Then
Started in 1996, we began by helping local businesses in Hertfordshire with their IT needs. Personal service and genuine relationships were our foundation from day one.
Now
Today, we support over 150 businesses across the UK with everything from day-to-day IT support to cutting-edge AI and automation solutions. The personal touch remains.

From a one-man PC repair shop to a 26-strong team trusted by over 150 businesses - here's how Genmar IT has grown.
- 1996
Founded as a PC repair shop
Garry Moore founded Genmar as a residential PC repair shop, fixing computers for the local community.
- 2010
Moving into business IT
We began selling IT support contracts to local businesses, marking our first step into the B2B world.
- 2015
James Moore joins the team
Garry's son, James Moore, started working at Genmar. At the time the company was a tight-knit team of around four staff.
- 2021
Fully focused on business
After a decade building up the B2B side together, James and Garry closed the residential business. Garry retired from day-to-day operations and James was made Managing Director.
- 2025
ISO 27001 certified
Serving larger and larger businesses, we achieved our ISO 27001 certification for the first time, formalising our commitment to information security.
- 2026
150+ businesses and growing
Today we look after over 150 businesses with a team of 26 staff - and we're still growing.
