Home or Home office backup...
You can now use your ADSL Broadband connection to backup to an offsite location overnight. This is a simple way to make sure you are backing up the correct data and also the data is protected from disk failure, fire, theft and flood. Until now this type of service was only economically viable for larger organisations.

How does the backup work?
You will need to first set up your account, the password you use will not only be your access password to change your backup applications configuration but will also be used to encrypt your data before it is transmitted to our Vault. Please do not lose this, without it you will not be able to decrypt your data.
After installing the client application you will be asked to select the folders you wish to backup and at what time of day.
The data will then be encrypted with your password and sent over the internet to our secure vault. If you have far to much data initially to upload over the internet you can post us the encrypted 'seed file before running your first backup. While the system is backing up you may notice the flashing light over the Home Vault backup icon in the system tray.
Data Retention
Data loss can take many forms, one of the more common being user error, how many times have you accidently saved over, deleted or changed a file you needed? We are only human.
The data retention policy allows us to counter this these problems by storing an unlimited number of deleted or changed files on the 'Home Vault' servers for 30 days. So every time you change a file the new file goes into active storage indefinitely while the original copy (before the change) is put into 'retained' storage for 1 month, giving you plenty of time to recover it if needed.
Data Recovery
You can recover your data through the software or online through the interface on our website from anywhere in world- in both cases you will need the password you used to encrypt the data initially because without it accessing your data will be impossible (less you have a team of computer geniuses and a supercomputer).
If you are in a hurry to recover your data but you have too much to recover in a reasonable time span over the internet, or you would just like us to send you a hard copy of the backup we can put it in the post for next day delivery for a small fee.
